Conducts initial and final inspection of all parts sent to the Machine Shop for repair.  Marks inspected parts and sends to appropriate department.



Micrometer, verniers, templates, detail drawings, fork truck, cranes, hoists, small hand tools. CMM.


  1. Performs initial inspection of all parts after disassembly and mark as necessary for repairs (i.e. “weld up bore”, etc.)
  2. Perform final inspection on all repaired parts after the machining operation.  Verify dimensions and tolerance prior to breaking mill or lathe set-up.
  3. Inspect weld on all jobs prior to machine set up
  4. Work with other departments on quality problems.  Refer questionable cases to Machine Shop Supervisor for decisions.
  5. Perform daily housekeeping as required.
  6. Perform other related duties within the department.

(7)  Observe all safety rules.

(8)  Operate CMM for inspection.

(9)  Order replacement parts as needed.
